Rated 5 out of 5 by outventure4life from Great as always Lots of space, true to its capacity of 8 people. We will use it for a family of 4 using cots and plenty of space left for gear. It does has a very large foot print, is packed in a large bag and is not light on weight. The first time we put together it took more than 10 minutes and you need al least 2 people. Construction and materials are very good, materials feel thinner than older coleman tents.

Not that expected that to be based on reality unless all 8 people who are going to sleep in it are VERY good at working together. 6 people might be able to get the tent up in less than 5 minutes not sure that includes putting the rain fly on or guy lines set. The first time took me 30 without looking at the instructions or setting up the guy lines. If it were just me I’d go with a 3 man tent but my dog likes something bigger. I like the looks of it. It looks roomy. I love the screen room. I still need to put all my stuff in the way I like it but I think it just gets better from here. I think some wind and rain is coming soon. I’ll let you know

The attached legs are a huge headache when a pole breaks, which is what happened to me the first time I attempted to set it up. The metal on the poles where the elastic rests when they’re folded up, is incredibly sharp around the edges and digs into the elastic within the poles, which subsequently made one snap during our first set up. Upon further inspection of the elastic in the other pole, there was many spots on the elastic that had already started to fray, and this was before I had even gotten to that pole, to set it up. I am very disappointed and ended up returning and buying another brand.

Its so nice that it has 2 different little areas to sleep, plus on a warmer night you can open the flaps and enjoy some nice breeze with out the hassle of having to worry about bugs become its has a nice mesh wall . If its a rainy night, dont worry, it has a weather gaurd and a.floring that will keep the rain out. Did i mention that it has an easy access extension cord area so that you can have electric elements in your tent! We are so stoked to have the ability to go camping when ever we want thanks to this amazing coleman 8 person tent!

I waterproof it every season with some kind of water protectant just as extra precaution. But, I've used this tent now for 2 years. No issues, no leaks in any storms we've had and it rains heavily at least once during our camping trips. First year we had it we were hit with rain & thunderstorms for an entire day and night, with winds up to 70kms. My husband, my son, myself and our German Shepherd were safe and sound in the tent with no water coming in, not even in the vestibule. Currently looking at purchasing the 2-man version of this tent for my son now that he's a teenager.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Red73 from Not worth it There are pro's and cons to this tent. Pro it's can stand up to a downpour without leaking and it's got a large inside. Cons well it's poorly designed from the clip system to zippers on the screen room and it's not easy to fold. I have a mobility issue so bending down to unzip the screen room isn't feasible or easy. When you fold, pretty much need to be careful not to break the clips as their plastic. If you break a clip, this tent becomes useless so be careful. I won't be buying another Coleman because this is the second tent I have had with Coleman that doesn't work for me.

No, the Coleman Skydome 8-Person Screen Room Tent (2000038400) is not the same as the older Coleman 8-Person Modified Dome Full Fly Tent that Costco sold.

The Skydome version has: near-vertical walls for more headroom, an attached screen room, and a faster setup with pre-attached poles

The Modified Dome tent used a more dome design and was known for its full-coverage rainfly.

They are similar in size and capacity, but they are different models with different designs and features.
