Description

Super Burner!
The whole design of the stove is nice and I like the fact that it is big enough to fit a big frying pan and a large pot at the same time but man this flame is just too uncontrollable. I think if you just had better quality control knobs this stove would be the best ever made! It goes from no flame to afterburner in 1/16 of a turn! To make it worse, the control knobs are sort of springy (probably due to the rubber sealing the knob) and even if you do get sort of used to making micro adjustments to control this beast they seem to spring back to afterburner which again takes millimeters of a turn from nothing to this stage. Great idea but very poor execution! I'm not sure what your QC process is but did Coleman actually field test this stove? Just update the dials and it'll start getting 5 star reviews!

Do you find this stove too hot? Read below!
I have read countless negative reviews from people who find that this stove only has 2 settings - "off" and "way too hot"! I have had my stove for 2 years and have absolutely loved it, including the ability to regulate the temperature to a very very low level after having done the below fix.
There is a very simple fix for this problem that I came across when researching the purchase of this stove. There is a YouTube video titled "How To get a low flame with Coleman FyreKnight Hyperflame Propane Stove" by a user named Uncle Fjester that explains the simple fix (this fix applies to the FyreSergeant model also).
Note: I did not make that YouTube video - I just wanted to share the info for those of you who have purchased this stove and have not yet done this fix that improves the quality of this stove 1000%..!

Overpowered
I’m echoing everyone else here. It burns WAY too hot. It’s really good for certain things (steaks, smaller burgers, boiling) but other than that it’s hard to use without burning or charring food.

Works great!
I was skeptical about purchasing this product based on the reviews. I was intrigued by the concept and technology.
I opened it as Soo. A I received it. The product worked great! Very easy to adjust the temperature to low and get great even heat. I'm not sure if Coleman addressed the concerns of other purchasers or not but, I couldn't be happier with the performance of the product.

I bought this unit with all of the extras to take on camping trips and cook for 2 to 4 people. I found this unit to be way too hot even at the lowest setting. I have even practiced this thing in my garage quite a few times. Unfortunately for this reason I cannot give it a good review. I like everything about it but the uncontrollable heat.

J'ai souvent brûlé mes rôtis pendant mes vacances. Nouveauté exige un ajustement, j'étais habituée à mon vieux poêle. Le seul bémol que je signalerai c'est le bruit (claquement) de l'allumeur wow s'il pouvait faire moins de bruit il serait parfait.

I agree with the rest of the reviews and wish I would have read them. I bought this product because I always buy Coleman for camping, but I can’t use it because the flame is too hot and not adjustable. It burns everything that goes on it. I thought I would spoil myself and spend the extra money on this grill, but do not worth it

Out of control heat!!
I was super happy to have purchased such a functional unit. All in one!! Well as most of the others who purchased this product! 5 meals cooked, 5 meals burnt. The heat is so out of control it burnt our chicken black so fast that the inside was not even cooked. I am extremely disappointed to have this very expensive unit in my garage that is useless for cooking and I am not a fan of paying over $200 to have this on hand to have my water boil fast! I tried to return it to Canadian Tire but no go!! Beyond disappointed

build design look all good, cooking unless boiling water this stove is pretty much useless this is not a camping stove, you have no control its either burn or boil or it goes out.
Very disappointed in the product from a reputable camping and outdoor specialist.
this item needs a firmware upgrade, or in this case a recall of product.
Ive given this product 1 star its like trying to rate a car with a jet engine super fast but are you able to drive it on a road ... no, so what's the point ?

Works pretty well, but has some problems.
The burners can output a lot of heat, though they won't both run at max flame at the same time.
They can't be turned low enough. With a burner right at the edge of going out it still cooks my eggs too fast.
One can put a very wide pan on a burner, but it will only get hottest in the centre. In that area, though, the heat is more even than with ordinary ring-shaped burners.
The stove starts making an annoying whining sound about 15 seconds after starting, which persists for 15 to 20 seconds. Lifting the pan even slightly makes it stop while it is lifted. Turning the burner low also makes it stop, and it can be turned up after some time.
The prop for the lid seems flimsy. The latch for the lid is a bit difficult to use.
The wind blockers are much more effective than the usual side panels.

Stove pumps out a big flame but that’s it
I bought this so I wouldn’t need to bring a stove and a separate bbq grill camping.
There is virtually no heat control so as a grill it just burns everything. As a stand-alone stove it’s great as long as you don’t need a low heat setting.
I used it for one trip out and so disappointed. It’s getting returned.
Needs a regulator for better heat control, and possibly higher and better quality grill grates, cast iron with kegs would do it, coupled with adequate temperature settings.

Works TO GOOD
Nice, Easy to clean. Boils water like great. Was great for seasoning a Wok.
Sadly though nearly impossible to cook reasonably on. There is virtually no control. Either the burner is so hot everything burns/sticks instantly to my cast iron (ie sausages black on the outside, while raw in the middle still), or it turns itself off. Spent a lot of time trying to get just a nice gentle flame out of it, but you basically need to get it to the off position before the flame reduces and then it generally just turns itself off. Simply the worst camp stove I've ever used/experienced.
This isn't like a case of "Oh never cooked on open flame, or doesn't really know how to cook in the first place." I am a make it from scratch kind of cook and have cooked on open flame for more of my life then an induction stove.

Poor burner control, poor grill design
The burner controls are very poor and do not allow medium or low cooking levels. you have to hold the knob at the very lowest setting to maintain a flame other than very hot...then when you let go the knob turns by itself and goes to higher heat.
Water in the drip pan??? Where do you dump that water that a bear won't find and what picnic table is that level??? Does boil water very effectively if that's all you want to do!! Longtime Coleman fan but the new stuff is poor quality.

Awesome till it Works!!!
Had a great experience with all things Coleman when it came to enjoying outdoors, right from fire-starters till Tents and Shelters. My previous stove ran flawless for 14 years, till 2016, when I had an urge to upgrade, since this FyreSergeant Hyperflame stove provided the convenience of stove as well grill. Happy as I was, gladly donated old one to a charity. This FyreSergeant stove worked flawless, with built-in igniter, though heat control was an issue as minimum was also pretty high for effective grilling.
Come 2020, and first camping trip of the season, the stove went Kapoot on second meal.Seemed something had stuck internally on second burner, and the propane has started leaking profusely. Luckily always had a single burner stove (again a Coleman) as a backup, with which we managed to complete the trip. Coming home, being mechanically bent opened up the stove to see the copper supply tubing had snapped as if cut by a cutter. Wow. To my dismay, I learnt from Coleman authorized repair shop, this part is not meant for replacement. Awesome. Whilst being 90% Coleman gear, my faith in the brand is now evaporating. Anything?

Was really jazzed about this stove and at the time of purchase couldn’t find a lot of reviews. As with most all other reviews the flames are not controllable. The knob will not stay in place for a low flame and you have too hold it...we tried taping it in place which helped a little but really annoying. Expected more from Coleman for the price. Would not recommend. Wish I’d have purchased the road trip or another style of camp stove...

Everything I need
I love this stove! We've been using it for a couple years now and its absolutely perfect for us. We do find that we only ever use the very lowest temperature setting and this does all our cooking needs but it suits us just fine! Our ONLY compliant is the temperature control knobs came off too easy and we lost one right away and had to swap the remaining one back and forth but we made it work. Camping isn't supposed to be perfect. Just wish I could order more knobs separately. My only other compliant is that the matching griddle seems to be maybe discontinued because it's really hard to find. But I bought the roadtrip griddle and even though it's not a perfect fit and you need to be careful positioning it to make sure it doesn't slide off it works pretty good! So glad I splurged for this when my partner didn't think we needed a fancy stove. We both love it!

We bought the Fryreergeant 3 in 1 hyparflame stove for our camping trip in August. Read other reviews and thought we would take a chance. We have a 30 year old coleman griddle we tried to use on this stove. It badly burned it. The flame even on low flares up and we have been using camp stoves for years. Very disappointed in this stove. Thankfully our Canadian Tire took it back.

Perfect Companion
Very hot flame. It took a little getting used to on flame control but once I figured it out no issues. I would suggest making a cover accessory for the grill that fits properly and contains the heat. I purchased an after market one but fits poorly. Would make this stove complete, if there was one that fits the square grill as most are round.
Just a suggestion.

Not As Expected Or Desired - Believe The Reviews
I was looking for a stove / grill combo so I didn't need to bring 2 separate appliances on car camping trips, my brother has a different one that I love but I couldn't find one - instead I spied this one in the store and bought without reading the reviews.
Took it out on a week long trip and literally burned everything I tried to cook on the grill, even the hot dogs! The stove part works to quickly boil water, but for just a fast hot stove, the price is high.
The thing is too hot and you can't control the temperature at the lower end. It's either HOT or off.
I don't think anyone at Coleman actually tried to cook a hot dog or a piece of chicken on it. It shouldn't have left the prototype stage.
To add insult to injury, Canadian Tire gave me a hassle when I returned it.
What I need is a stove on one side, and a cast iron grill and griddle option on the other. With temperature regulation! The search continues.

Disappointed
Totally waste of money. Burns way too hot and cant be properly controlled. You can't see the flame so you dont know how high it is I've used it about a dozen times and now it has completely quit working. The propane isnt reaching the burners. So disappointed.

Poor connector
Whilst I love this stove, the gas connection was an obvious design fault and this has proved to be the case,less than two years since purchase.There is a huge mechanical disadvantage due to the nature of the connection when used with a LNG bottle

Little powerhouse

I like this stove
This stove is much better than the average camp stove because the burners distribute the heat better and the wind baffles are great. I wish it could cook at a lower heat. I have only used the grill feature for toast. I would buy it again.

Zero temperature control
Purchased for summer camping trips, first weekend was a disaster as quickly as it ignited, heat was intense, almost dangerous. At the lowest level, before turning off, it could boil water and burned ground beef in minutes

Bought this stove hoping to also use as a bbq grill. Unable to turn down low to make percolated coffee and unable to see flame to judge how hot it is/ how high the flanme is. Would not recommend.

Hard to set temp
This product is hard to set to low flame you have to take a lot of time to adjust flame or it will burn grill I purchased frill and I end up burning new cast grill not happy
