Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delivers Everytime The Coleman Classic Propane Camping Stove is a must-have for any camping trip. It’s incredibly easy to use—just attach a propane canister, turn the knobs, and you’re ready to cook. The two burners offer solid heat control, allowing you to simmer or boil with ease. The built-in wind panels are a great feature, especially when cooking in breezy conditions, and the stove heats up quickly, handling everything from simple breakfasts to full dinners. It’s sturdy, reliable, and clearly built to last through multiple seasons of use. That said, it’s a bit bulky for backpacking and doesn’t come with a built-in igniter, so you’ll need to bring a lighter or matches. But for car camping or weekend getaways, those are minor trade-offs. Overall, this stove delivers excellent value and dependable performance. If you’re looking for a tough, no-fuss camping stove that gets the job done every time, the Coleman Classic won’t let you down.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gets job done for basic stove The Coleman classic propane stove is your basic stove for camping. It gets the job done with ample cooking surface. The fuel output was sufficient for an entire weekend of camping and cooking normal three meals for a family of 4. The side breaks were nice to provide a barrier against wind blowing out your flame. Overall, no complaints and it will get the job done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy I’ve been using the Coleman Classic Propane Stove for several camping trips now, and it has consistently exceeded my expectations. Setup is a breeze – just connect the propane tank, turn the knob, and ignite. The two burners offer plenty of cooking space, and they heat up quickly and evenly, which is a must when you’re out in the woods trying to cook a real meal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only one we use This propane stove, is the only trustworthy stove, that we take with us every camp. It is super easy to hookup to the propane tank and turn on. All you need is a lighter. It has a good range of heat that you can choose from, and the flame can get super hot and strong, which is amazing if you want to cook something fast. Truly a perfect stove to use for camping!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect little camp stove. This little camp stove is the vest! It is a staple to our camping supplies and goes every where with us! We usually keep it in the back of the vehicle so we can have a way to make a quick bite to eat on family outings as well! It fold up and pretty compact. Slips perfectly into smaller spots when packing! It has never let us down and it has had ALOT of use!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight, high heat, easy to clean I bought one of these last year. I took it camping, and even kept it in my jeep with cooking gear, so that I was able to have hot lunch on the go. Two burners gave me versatility to cook, and heat beverages while at the range. The case even provides wind protection while you cook to an extent. Highly recomend thjs, the 1lb tanks last several hours with these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use stove I recently used my Coleman camping stove on a road trip to Alaska. The drive was 6 days both ways. We used this stove every day for breakfast and dinner, and didn’t even use a full propane bottle. Very efficient and easy to use with two burners. The setup keeps wind out and heat in around the pan. Easy to setup and pack away. This is my go to for car camping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tradition What more can I say…. Coleman is the OG of outdoor gear and equipment! I remember being a little kid on my first camping trip with my dad.. Coleman lantern and camp stove running on Coleman Fuel. Colman sleeping bags to keep us warm and a Coleman tent to keep us dry. Those traditions have continued with my family and I’m sure they will continue with theirs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long lasting camping stove. We have owned this camp stove for approximately 10 years. It has been used through numerous camping trips for my family of 6. It is durable and lightweight. In fact when my kids reached adulthood, we purchased each of them one for their personal camping equipment. Will continue to purchase Coleman camp stoves when it is time to replace our current model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great camping stove [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this product it is very convenient and great for camping given that it uses propane and folds up easily. Use this to wow your camping neighbors who are eating plain granola bars while you can make scrambled eggs and pancakes. It’s also much easier to use than the tripod burners when it is windy out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall one of the best camping stoves I’ve ever used I have had this stove for close to 10 years and it still works as well as the day I bought it. Very easy to clean and folds flat for convenient traveling. I have not had any problems with under or overcooked food since the flame distribution is like a regular stove. I oftentimes have propane tanks leftover after camping because it is also fuel efficient.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Travel friendly! We absolutely LOVE this for camping. We use it in addition to our camp grill so we can make breakfast and sides! It breaks down pretty slim so it doesn’t take up a ton of space for traveling with it. It’s fairly easy to clean (even an accidental cracked egg in the bottom). Overall, I would recommend this! It has lasted for several years and still going!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for camping or outdoor kitchens This is powered by a small can of propane That only costs about five dollars! You could always upgrade to a bigger tank. But it's good on short notice in an emergency. it is good on short notice, and in an emergency, like when your power goes out. In a long outage you will have to cook your food or lose it. Good for saving money during an emergency!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable propane stove for camping. I use our Coleman propane stove alot while camping. I even had a stove in our camper, but I preferred to cook outside on this stove. It cooks/heats food up quickly. It is awesome when you have been rained out and the kiddos are starving! Of course its super convenient and easiy transportable. It folds up nicely and the propane lasts a long time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple, compact and gets the job done. My family likes to go camping and this is the stove they use to cook meals. There is no frill but it is very durable with wind screen (the lid of the brief case and side shield) makes the outdoor cooking very easy. One butane tank lasts a few ones night camping trips. This is great value for anyone who loves to prepare a meal during camping trips.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a happy camper I have used the product three times and each time problems first only the left burned worked next both worked but the right stopped many time my third try bot burners would not stay lite even in changing to new bottles. Now I do not mind cold food but I did not buy this to just tote around. This may now end my getting any other Coleman products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convenient and reliable I don’t have a pic of mine because it’s in storage- however- I love this portable cooking device and we’ve had one for several years. I recommend to anyone that wants a hassle free, easy way to jazz up dinner time while on a camping trip or anywhere outdoors! Just screw on a small propane bottle, and fire her up! We use ours every single trip.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from About 15 years old Growing up my husbands family had an older version of this camp stove. We received the newer version when we started camping on our own. It serves it's purpose. We've used it once or twice a year for about 15 years and it's still going strong. It doesn't take up much car space. The only noteworthy negative is that it doesn't like windy days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The standard classic! I have had several of these over the years. great stove and gets it done year after year....
Date published: 2019-09-13
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mine has worked flawlessly, so far... The caveat is Propane is my secondary fuel choice. I also have a 424 dual fuel, and a 425e Coleman Fuel stove that I prefer. However there are times I prefer propane such as group trips, and emergencies like the February 2021 ice storm that hit Texas and took out power to my electric stove for a week. I bought mine in 2018 to replace a different brand that had a regulator fail that was irreplaceable and the MFG had gone out of business. I really wasn't expecting much from this stove. Is it as easily adjustable as my 424 or 425? Nope. But then again I have no expectation that a propane stove will respond the same way a liquid fuel stove would... Liquid fuel stoves seem to me at least, to respond slower to valve adjustments, thus seem to be easier at least for me to get to a very low simmer. This stove WILL do a simmer, but as the burners sit so high in the stove compared to the liquid fuel stoves, even with the wind guards in place, it is easy to have the burners get blown out. This would happen with ANY propane stove that sets the burners high like this. Which is almost ALL Of them, so I can't fault this stove for that, I just configure my camp kitchen with this in mind. I can go from barely lit, to a full on burn with easily controlled graduations in between, just being careful how fast I turn the knob, it is super easy to go way past where you intended. This is after all a valve knob, and not a temp selector like a residential stove. I typically run this off of a hose and BBQ tank with no issues whatsoever. The hinge is smartly placed, such that if I were to use a large accessory such as a Coleman Folding oven, or the drip coffee maker, they actually fit, unlike on my liquid fuel stoves... I would expect the higher priced models like the Triton to be easier to adjust / get a fine flame from. I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5 due to 2 design issues that bother me. #1. The gas control valves are both on the same side of the stove. They should each be on the side of the stove with the burner they control. Easy enough workaround, but just weird engineering thatis also easy enough to cause the operator to turn the wrong valve control. #3. This is common among propane stoves, but making the regulator / tank adapter sit off to the side of the stove on a metal pipe. And then for those of us users that use things like, oh... the Coleman Pack Away camp kitchen, the stove support doesn't support the bottle, making me paranoid it will break the line and cause a dangerous propane leak. I don't think they should include, but Coleman really should offer a relocator adapter using a hose that will allow the operator to place the fuel line to the side elsewhere and support it when using camp kitchens like this. Or redesign the camp kitchen to support the stove + fuel bottle. IF you get one of these stoves that gives you simmer problems, call Coleman customer care. They have been very helpful for me with some weird issues over the years and I am sure they can sort something out for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Coleman stove This stove has literally been a life saver for us , we were stranded in 3 inch ice with no electric for 2 weeks. No one could get to us and we couldn’t get out. We used this stove to cook our food and it was amazing. Lights easy and propane bottle last for a long time. Cooks evenly and is easily turned down . I will always trust this company

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This stove only works with the small green propane tanks! Sold separately! I have a family of five and used this everyday without struggle! The stove did take a while to heat up but otherwise did the job just fine! If you are packing a large family I would seek a larger stove, but if it’s a family of 5 and under your hood to go. Coleman is an industry leading win for many years. Count on it! Highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A favorite for a reason Coleman Classic stoves are a time honored favorite for a reason. They pack up to a convenient size, work for decades, seriously they are that reliable, they don’t need fancy bells and whistles. They do what they’re meant to do consistently every time for a low price point and a low cost to run. I can’t recommend this enough. 🏕️ 🔥 🌭 🍔

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for blackouts too We used this Coleman stove for campaign. Heating up coffee, food, etc. works great. But it has also come in handy during long blackouts. (I have electric stove) I’ve been able to cook on it and not worry about time it takes for power to come back. Now a days we never get blackouts anymore but love to know we have a backup solution.
