Rated 3 out of 5 by from Takes a while to cook [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I had high hopes for this Coleman popcorn popper. First thing is the handle is not very sturdy. I felt very worried I was going to drop part of the container in the fire and not be able to pick it back up. Secondly, the handle was very short. I had to lean in pretty close to get it in a decent position that wasn't on coals or in the direct fire. It says it takes approximately 3 minutes to pop in the instructions. Our first batch took almost 10 minutes to pop. When it did pop it worked great! It was a little hard to safely get the popcorn out without spilling or burning our hand, but we managed to figure how to open it just right to pour into a big bowl. The second batch popped much faster. Honestly if the handle was a little longer and sturdier this would be rated far higher. Definitely had some delicious popcorn that was perfectly cooked when it was all done, but I was sweating and tired holding the handle for so long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome for camping [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Talk about being the life of the party around the camp fire. We took a trip to big bend and I decided that eating fresh popcorn under the moon was high on the list. It’s really easy to use and the popcorn comes out great. For a good flavor use some coconut oil

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Affordable and durable [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for camping and it was perfect! I was able to pop popcorn easily and it wasn't messy at all. It's an above average popper and almost all the kernels were popped. I'll recommend this product to all of my friends.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Paint burned off and ruined on first use. I followed the instructions exactly, seasoning first, then tried using it over our campfire (on a log, not directly over the flame as indicated in the directions). After about 10 minutes of continual shaking, with the oil sizzling and no popping I decided to move it closer to the flame. It finally started to pop and so I took it away from the heat when the popping stopped. When I finished the process I poured the popcorn into a bowl and noticed some burnt kernels and the inside bottom of the popcorn maker had paint coming off. It seemed like the indirect heat versus the direct heat from the flames did not get the kernels hot enough to pop (even though the oil was sizzling). Now I know heat will take paint off, so why would you paint the surface of the product that comes in direct contact with the food at high temperatures. I would like to try again but I am not going to spend money to buy a new one or take the time to remove the remaining paint at the bottom of the unit for safer use. Also, the handles where not very secure when connected to each other. Seems like a fun things for kids around the campfire instead of the usual smores, unfortunately I will continue with the marshmallow and smore concoction. Good luck

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Poppin fun [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the great pleasure of going camping this week. My adorable family went to the Ocean! I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try out my brand new Coleman Popcorn Popper! I was beyond excited to try this! My family prefers popcorn as a snack to anything else so this is perfect! Also, the Name Coleman is popular and assumed to be the best brand. After getting the fire started in the fire ring i gathered my ingredients and set forth to make my first ever, popped at the camp fire, popcorn. The very first thing I noticed about the popcorn popper is that its lightweight . it came disassembled, in 3 pieces that very easily snapped together. The lid slides on and off and has a little wooden knob handle. The lid however did not slide on properly. After a minute we pushed together and the lid clicked on but wouldn't stay on. The popper was set on the grate and shaken to prevent burning. After a minute of beautiful popping sounds I removed the popper from the fire and shook it vigorously. The handle then unclicked from the body of the popper and it went crashing to the ground. The popcorn was now half burnt and in the dirt! This is dangerous as you never know whos under your feet. I attempted again. And again the popcorn burnt. But I was able to get popcorn from heat and set to the side. Eventually we used the popper as a little oven. We cooked scrampled eggs in it and cooked a burger on the lid. Pros: really does make popcorn Fast Convienient Fun to use Cons: Flimsy handle Lid that does not fit properly
