Leaks gas, rattles, Grease collects inside
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] How on earth this grill has not CAUSED a major fire yet is a mystery. It leaks gas if left connected to bottle through the CLOSED valve when not in use. When rolling across ground (parking lot, campsite etc) it rattles so loud that its just embarrassing. If you have to go up/down a curb - forget it, the legs/rails catch and scrape on the curb lip.The grease from cooking burgers has nowhere to go and collects inside the housing, making what my family calls a "Giant Grease Life-Ring". Its a disgrace that this thing EVER made it to market.

good grill for the price
Have been using this grill for the past three years. Keep it stored outside in the weather and use it at least once a week in the spring, fall and summer months. Maybe once or twice a month in the winter. It still grills like a champ. Just started to get a little rust on the lid but I'd expect that from all the use and sitting in the PNW weather. For me, this little grill has been a workhorse.

putting together pain!
Directions to put together are poor to say the least. I am an experienced DIYer but the directions are not clear or complete. The latch to keep the grill in portable position won't latch. I also wish the wheeled leg front actually locked into place not just slid into position.

Not A SAFE HEIGHT TO COOK ON
I bought this Grill put it together. when i had it fully assembaled it stands way to low and is an unreasonable height to cook on. My Inlaws have a Coleman Roadtrip LXE 2 Burner stove and I can cook on that just fine but the sportster is just way too low.

amazing portability with good cooking

Think about all those other grills that are on a tripod... i.e. 2 wheels and you have to awkwardly lift the grill or drag it along... This is much easier

Awesome for Camping

Regulator never worked
Regulator doesn’t work from day 1. It’s seized in closed position.
BTW this my third attempt to contact Coleman. First attempt was a month ago with no response. Second attempt was today and now the warranty claim form won’t submit.
Frustrated.

Price too high
The burner is too close to the griddle. It burns the food because the low flame isn’t low. Would not buy again. The cheap table top grill is better .

Cant find regulator
Let me start by saying this would be a 5 star review if we could find the proper regulator to replace ours.. We have the 9955 series roadtrip sportster and love it. But the gas control knob broke on the regulator and i figured might as well replace the whole thing instead of just a knob that 'might' fit. However, virtually impossible to find. Any help would be appreciated. Im not looking for a free replacement but to be pointed in the right direction. Thanks

Convenient, portable, grills to perfection
This Coleman Propane Grill is so easily portable. It's quite convenient to use. Does a great job grilling food like hotdogs and burgers. Perfect for our camping trips. It's fairly easy to clean after use and offers various temperature controls to get food cooked/grilled to perfection. It is quite durable as well due to the fact that it's being moved around quite a bit for our various camping trips. It's a great grill option for any occasion.

Horrible design
Purchased this Grill for tailgating and was hoping to be able to bring camping. I have purchased many Coleman products this is by far the worst Coleman I have ever owned. Trying to assemble it was a complete joke, terrible instructions. When it was finally put together it's completely crooked , the grease tray slot is all bent and you can't even fold it up to be pulled on the wheels because it doesn't lock in place. Complete waste of my money.

Lightly used, spacious sturdy grill
We love our grill!! It's the perfect size to feed all of our family and the heat distributes evenly so we can fit a lot of meat on it!! We actually needed to buy a grill, then on my walk one day my neighbor had a near brand new grill out front giving it away for free because they were moving. because it turned out being the best world we've ever had! The gas lasts a long time and is cheap and easy to use. I really recommend this grill.

Paint flakes off Grates and only one temp
The paint flaked off the grates. I've used this grill only a few times and the paint is flaking off the grates. I do not clean them with any type of metal scrubbers. I clean with a soft sponge. So disappointed. I would not waste my money on this grill. No matter what temperature I set the grill to it is always on high. Low is high, medium is high and the food gets burned. I've never had problems like this with other grills.

Forget This One
There is NO indication as to where low, medium or high burner is. But it would not make any difference it’s always at the same heat range(HIGH) all the time. Way to hot to really cook on it’s just too hot. Only one burner so you can’t move from one side to another to obtain indirect heat. Ok for hot dogs/hamburgers and not much more. Probably two stars is 1/2 a star is too much. Would not buy again or recommend.

Burns too hot
Grill is great quality. Light weight for transporting and easy to clean. But grill burns way too hot even on the lowest setting. I think it needs a smaller gas flow orfice . Working with Coleman to correct the issue. Ive NEVER used anything but the lowest setting and still have a difficult time not burning whatever I am cooking. Thick meat is impossible to not char.

Makes outdoor cooking a joy
The Coleman Sportster Propane Grill is fantastic! This grill is easy to set up. It is super portable, which is perfect for camping trips or grilling on a small patio. The temperature control is excellent, which enables cooking everything from quick burgers to slower-cooked chicken evenly. Also, cleanup is simpler than expected. This grill is great for quick, delicious outdoor meals

Love this little grill!
They work very well and it is easy to assemble and use. Very easy to transport. I use it for my rv, picnics, tailgating, etc. love how i can replace the grill for a burner to use a pot or use the griddle attachment to make things like pancakes in the morning. Easy to put together and to set up and take down just takes seconds.

Compact, but poor temperature control
We got this last year for hurricane season to is on our porch. Unfortunately, the regulator never worked properly and is always on high. That seems to be a common issue with these models and there does not seem to be a replacement available.. For the amount of money this small grill cost, I would expect more from Coleman.

Awesom grill
This grill is amazing. I purchased it for my husband for camping trips since he hate lugging around are larger grill when we do our large family camping trips. This grill was able to handle burgers, hot dogs and steaks out for our large (22 people) quickly family quickly. And didn’t take up a lot room.

I've bought this grill 3 times overthe years. Love its size and price. Only complaints: instructions not very clear when putting it together and regulator has ALWAYS stopped working pretty quickly and cannot find replacement part for this model. But I can work with that so doesnt bother me.

Issues with drip pan, cleaning, wheels.
I wish there was a better system for drip pan. The bottom inside is flat so not all grease goes into drip pan, some stays in bottom of body... drips in trunk of car unless I tear completely apart and clean prior to travel. Wheels are loose and bowed out. Otherwise I am very happy with it!

Great for grilling meat!
This grill has cooked up some real good food! I love that it's portable so you can use it at home or easily take it camping with you. It has different temperature controls. It's easy to clean with a grill brush. The setup of this grill didn't take too long. It's all around a good grill!

Just bought this grill - FAILURE!
I was assembling the grill - I opened up the package, sorted out the parts, and immediately noticed there were no spacers (Item D in the horribly written documentation) already. If you can't even provide all the necessary equipment to assemble the grill, how can you call it quality?
