Not ready for prime time
I had really high hopes for this grill having used Coleman products for many past years. These road trip portables look great but totally UNDRRperform. The marketing is superb and the fold-away engineering is a nice touch. But this grill won't even boil water after sitting a stainless percolator on top (using a separately purchased grate) after sitting there 12-15 minutes. I've tried the 1 pound mgas bottles, the 20 pound grill tanks, and my home LP gas port, all with the same poor heating results. I'll end up keeping it instead of returning mainly because the box is long gone, and because I suppose it full fry bacon on the (separately purchased) griddle insert
All in all, if I had it to do over again, I'd not buy this grill. Sorry Coleman, but y'all really don't know your market, or at least this niche are.

Great travel/camping grill
Great for my slide out griddle in my camper. This is a great grill. I have an expensive grill with every bell and whistle but hate cleaning the beast. This is a great grill it has three knobs for temperature, a nice temp gage on the hood, easy to take anywhere, easy to clean, and cook on. There is a good amount of space to cook, two small pull out side tables and the grills are quality not flimsy wire. I absolutely love to grill and this is the best bang for your buck!!!

Great little grill is the perfect fit!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love love this grill! It’s large enough to accommodate a decent amount of food, but compact enough to fit in a quaint space. The first time out we made four burgers and six brats and still had room to spare! It heats quickly and evenly the temp gauge on top is super handy! It lights easily, heats quickly and assembled and disassembles pretty nicely! I’m a fan!

I like that it has 3 burners
I bought this grill to replace an old Coleman grill. I sat it up on my patio and grilled some steaks. it worked great. then i went to load it in my truck. Going from the back patio to my driveway, the lid popped open. The grills fell out, hit the ground while I was trying to grab everything. now the lid is bent, the grills are both broken on the end from hitting the concrete. my old grill had 2 real latches on the lid and was not made out of thin sheet metal

I used this may be five times last season. Now, spring is back and when i lighted on the BBQ, fire came under the in the metal casing. I had to shut it down!!! I tried to unscrew the box to see if some parts might need some tightening up but the casing won’t come out. This thing is a waste of money. The warranty must be over by now even if it spent nine months in the garage. Nobody would expect an almost new BBQ to take fire this way. It is dangerous

Good Portable Outdoor Grill Option
Grill cooks well, is compact and fairly durable. The cover is actual porcelain coated and will chip if impacted. Clean up is pretty easy due to the pan that sets under the grates that can also be filled with water for moisture while cooking. Suggest getting the optional hose to use with a regular propane tank unless you want to carry a lot of portable gas bottles with you.
The sliding shelves on the side are pretty small and partially blocked by the handles on the side of the grill making the useful space pretty limited when extended. The hood lock is flimsy and comes unlocked easily, thus spilling the grates out when being moved on the wheels in a vertical position. When stowing the legs, the guides for the legs are flimsy and easy bent. Once in place though, the lock does keep them secure. A good option for portable grilling.

UNBELIEVABLE LIL GRILL!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I originally bought this grill to do a few hamburgers, and hot dogs since my lil cousin was going to be playing at The University Of Miami...needed a good grille asap!
This grill has done just that, and so much more...went so far as to purchasing the griddle, and burner attachments. This grill lives on the back of my truck.
Someone tell Santa that I need a updated version of this same one!

Affordable Performing Quality
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased an RV and needed a grill for traveling that would fit in the side storage compartments. We enjoy quality BBQ not just cooking out. I have enjoyed Coleman cook stoves for many years while camping in a tent but we upgraded to an RV so it was time to upgrade the outdoor cooking as well. I purchased the ROADTRIP 285 grill this summer and let me tell you it is an awesome grill. The Roadtrip 285 offers a flat griddle and wire attachment for a frying pan in accessories so we purchased them as well anticipating cooking out side of the RV. We cooked steaks to perfection with the 3 burner heat controls. We cooked steaks on one side and fish on the other which turned out equally awesome. We cooked bacon, eggs and pancakes which turned out perfect. There is nothing you can not cook to perfection on the Roadtrip 285 grill. The grill is easily portable by collapsing it down and rolling it around with the attached wheels and handle. The grill is super easy to clean. The Roadtrip 285 is built like a tank out of quality materials with plenty of cooking surface that will accommodate cooking for several people while entertaining guest yet small enough to haul in our camper. I was so impressed with the performance of the Roadtrip 285 grill including the easily seen thermometer that when my home grill needs replaced I will be purchasing another Roadtrip 285 grill for use at home.

Parts wanted
This has been a great grill for me! However, the regulator has not been working recently. I understand this and parts sometimes have to be replaced. However, i am having a real hard time finding the exact regulator i need to purchase. I can neither find the model number to aid me in the search. All i want is the info i need to purchase the correct regulator to get my grill back up and running. Any aid will much appreciated! thanks

The Ideal BBQ Gril

The Coleman RoadTrip 285 Portable Stand-Up Propane Grill is packaged very well, the instructions were easy to read and follow. I assembled the grill without any issues.
I was very impressed with the quality and how sturdy the grill is.
The first night, I grilled hamburgers and they turned out perfect, they all cooked evenly and were done at the same time!
Even my 13 year old son grilled some hamburgers on it, all by himself.
Cleaning the grill is easy. I did have a mess though when I pulled out the water pan.
The Coleman RoadTrip 285 Portable Stand-Up Propane Grill is so handy! It's easy to store, and perfect for packing up with you to take on camping trips, float trips, or as we will be using it for when my son has his dirtbike races!!

Great option if you’re low on space
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really love that this grill collapses and is easy to store. We don’t have space for a big bulky grill, and since we don’t use it all the time I love that this can be easily hidden away when we don’t need it. The side panels feel very sturdy. It uses the small propane tanks, which could be annoying if you use it a lot. For me it’s perfect since they take up even less space.

The Best Grill!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a portable grill that finally wore out. This is a great. no fabulous, replacement. Easy to assemble- just attach the legs and wheels. I love how it folds down for easy moving. But my favorite thing is how any dripping fat/oil/whatever, doesn't touch the burners. That is a great feature! I haven't had any problems with removing the water tray. Just take your time.

You can’t beat purchasing this! You can literally take this anywhere. Someone called me out on a grill competition, they didn’t realize I was so serious when I pulled up and put this bad boy together in 2.2 seconds. Everyone was surprised…. The temperature holds perfectly and I’ve had my grill for few years now and it goes wherever the challenge is set! My favorite line is “ we can come to you…. Nooo problem” lol

Stopped working after 3 months
Purchased to replace an earlier model I had for 10 years. Used it maybe 6 or 7 times and the flow controls stopped working. Grill is useless now. Fuel just trickles out, can't get hot enough to cook with. Ruined 4th of July cookout.

Affordable, very durable, I love it

Everything I have cooked on it turned out wonderful. I have used it to cook almost all meats and even put a cast iron frying pan on it and fried bacon and eggs. Amazing product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We just moved into our town home and missed grilling outdoors. Having this has been so convenient. My favorite thing is we can take it with us any where and it can be stored away in tight spaces. It’s so easy to clean up afterwards.
My fiancé hasn’t stopped grilling since. We definitely plan on using it more often during the summertime.

Portable grill

The grill was heavy, propane is affordable, perfect for small living spaces, & easy to put away. It's still very cold & snow is on the ground here so I won't be able to to use it til spring.

Good small grill, but can’t buy replacement parts.
We are a small family of 3 and wanted something smaller we could use on our back porch but could also take on trips. For this, it served its purpose. However, after only one season of use, we can no longer use it because the water tray has rust and there is no replacement to be purchased, even though the tray is removable. Because of this one vital part, it is no longer usable.

Perfect for tailgating and a great purchase!
I bought this grill in the fall of 2022 for tailgating at ND football games. I've used it 11 times, the last time was last weekend and the next time is this coming weekend. The only complaint that I have is that the extending shelf on one side was a little faulty after the first use. Not a huge deal as I am able to still use it. Everything else about the grill is great. The burners are all still in good working order and the grill heats up evenly throughout. The burners ignite on the first press of the ignition button every time. It generates a good amount of heat and I'm able to cook everything fairly quickly for a small grill. The rest of the construction of the grill is solid. I've had no issues with the sturdiness of it at all. It's lightweight and portable and I'm able to load and unload with relative ease. Everyone who sees me grilling on this grill loves it. I would buy this grill again in a heartbeat.

Cute little grill.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Mom wanted a grill so I got her this one, it'll do for now even though she wanted a really big one. But, we've used this a couple times so far and it's really good for a small grill. The only thing we have to get used to is how to fold it up, the legs are confusing, but other than that, it's a nice sturdy grill.

Burners gave out after a yeae
I loved this grill. It was great for my patio space. The only problem is, my burners didn’t make it past one year. They light, but the grill doesn’t get hot anymore and the flame is barely a flicker. I can’t seem to find replacement burners anywhere. I’d recommend this grill to anyone, if I was able to replace those, and hopefully have them last a bit longer.

Convenient and reliable!
I have had my grill for 7 years now. I have not taken great care of it. It has been across the country 5 times and it still works great. I have the half-griddle side which is perfect for steak and eggs, or fajitas. I highly recommend this unit! The folding feature with the wheels allows for storage in an rv as well as dragging it through sand at the beach.

Will be put to use!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What an awesome portable grill! My family has already had a lot of use from this. It works just like a grill that's not portable, but I dont have to much to base on since this is out first gas grill, portable or not! I was a bit confused at first while getting it started I thought you would need to use a match to start it but once I read over the instructions again I realized that was just one of the ways to start it. Our burgers and chicken turned out just as they should.
Now to clean up and why I gave 4 out of 5 stars, there is a spot to add water and I assume it's to help with cleaning,BUT it made things a little more messy for me, I would definitely suggest wearing bummed out clothes when you clean because it can be a bit of a mess just to clean, other than that small flaw this is our new favorite way to cook. Whether at the beach or in the backyard you will be sure to love!

Not very happy with it so far.
I assembled everything carefully and was excited to start using my new grill at our tailgate before the game. I rolled it out to the truck to load it in and as I was opening the tailgate, the grill came unhinged from the frame and plopped over onto the concrete. The top of the grill is now dinted and severely scratched up and I hadn't even used it. UGH!

I took it out of the box put it together and used it and this thing is amazing. Doesn't work with RV systems
Grill works ok but if you want to find one to work with your RV this grill will not work. You can find all the correct parts, hoses and adaptors that will fit but this grill does not work with the low pressure quick connects. I found a video on how to make an adaptor but unless you can find the correct metric to NPT adaptor you are out of luck.
