we ordered and received a 40 qt thermoelectric cooler. It worked beautifully on our first trip but unfortunately the 120volt power supply failed and we are now limited in how we can use the cooler.

Beyond disappointed
We bought a new Intech camper, and it came with this trash. Claims of 40 degrees below ambient temperature are a lie. Maybe 10. If I could give it 0 stars I would. Do not buy this.

Breaks very easily
I’ve owned 6 of these over 4 years as a truck driver. They start off well then it just slowly goes down hill til eventually it just breaks. And now the latest one I bought only lasted 3 months and the power cord stopped transmitting power. I would recommend buying is using in a car. And probably would recommend for a semi just know you’ll have to buy new every six months

Camping, Picnicking or Stay at Home Must Have
This is actually the second Power/Chill Cest that we have owned. We replaced our previous one that was 20 years old. While it still did work, we felt it was time to replace it. The new one works just as efficiently as the last. The new motor placement is better and it quieter. Looking forward to 20 more years. It works great, even it not traveling. We used it at Christmas to hold some hot dishes while others continued to cook. Very versatile. Highly recommend !!

Internal Fan has stopped working around a year.
Was a good cooler for the 5 or so months that I used it. Then it got put into storage. Brought it out to use it and the internal fan has stopped working.
I repair things myself. Should have just cut the fan wires inside the unit and replaced it. However Coleman probally won't cover this now as I have completely taken the unit apart. This isn't my first time buying a coleman product. Bought a lunch cooler before too and the handle broke.

Been working good for us.
We bought this cooler back in 2002. It's seen road trips through =out Japan and the EU, now in South Korea. I read some of the other reviews, of course there are some that take a crap, with most having had the air vent blocked because the fool using it must have thought it worked better that way. Mine has been in storage for seven years, and I just pulled it out and fired it up to see if it still works. And it does. Hope this helps.

Great! does the job well
Bought an original or similar one from Walmart many years ago. I use it for my job as I have a van, it fits perfectly between the seats. Being as I'm on the road for upwards of 6 hours a day at times, it is very convenient for keeping the travel food and beverages cool. And when I finally stop for the night its nice to have everything cool. Does what its supposed to, keeps things cold.
I think I bought it for about a $100 (on sale). then, and was sort of taken back by the cost of these days. But its well worth the price. Looked for others elsewhere, but they didn't come close to the capacity I wanted or like the old well.
The old one was in very good shape still, but unfortunately started having issues with the fan/fuse. to be expected from the age.
Thanks Coleman. Great job on this product. Will buy again in the distant future I'm sure.

Power Chill Cooler
Bought the cooler to have in my big truck while I was gone at a truck stop. This cooler has been great and keeps everything cool(and freezes things when I forget to unplug it) .
Only issue I have is the end of the plug for the 12V receptacle gets really hot and has melted the end of the plug ,and now it won't work .Can't find a replacement plug (not happy) expensive problem . As now I have to buy another cooler.

Great thought, bad follow thru
I ordered this for an upcoming road trip, but it didn't make it thru the practice run. I used it to chill extra food over Easter weekend. Day 2, the inside fan was making a funny noise. I unplugged it to check it out, inside fan never came back on. Now I'm debating if I try to fix it or buy another for my June road trip. I was so excited to get it, but really disappointed. Wish I had seen these reviews beforehand.

Cool cooler, flaky plug...
Had our unit for many years. The constant weak part: the 12V connector (cooler & adapter). Heats up and fails to connect. Otherwise, the cooler works very well. We are traveling 5thWheel fulltimers and use it in all conditions.

Poor product
Bought product and used for four days trips on the fifth day trip it died. Product does not work as promised. Requested my money back and they will only exchange why would I want another one. It doesn't do what I need it too. It is a poorly made product. Very disappointed in Coleman. Thought I was dealing with Canada turned out I was dealing with the USA even though I ordered through Canada.

Over 10 years old and it still works!
I am an owner of one of the original Coleman Thermoelectric coolers. I have used it on and off for over a decade. We recently had the refrigerator in our RV stop working. I went to the garage and pulled out the old Coleman, cleaned it up, plugged it in, and guess what? It still works after 5 almost 5 years in storage! It's nice to know I have something that is so reliable.

The product works as advertised. If the cooler’s in an environment under 25 degrees C it will bring food down to refrigeration range (0-4 degrees C). On cooler days you can expect items in the bottom to actually freeze, but that’s a good place to keep meat. I’ve used it on three trips and it’s still running. I recommend buying the ac adapter for campsites with power.

I’m a truck driver and these coolers are junk ! The electrical cord will melt ! It’s a horrible product ! The outside fan is garbage ! If you leave it plugged in more then a few days it’s electric cord will melt and you will blow the fuses in your vehicle ! The cord gets so hot I worry it will start a fire ! I’ve bought many of these and they ARE A WASTE OF MONEY!!

Lasted a Long Time
Had this Cooler for about 10 yrs, It has done a lot for us. From camping in a van to moving with us to Hawaii (till we got our reg. refrigerator it was all we had). About a year ago I thought that it had died, but it was just the power supply. Just ordered a new one. Never thought to check via the plug in my truck but it still works, so hence the new power supply.

easy to use and perfect for roadtrips
This is our third Coleman Powerchill. Our first one lasted over 20 years of heavy use when we travel and our second is so we have two for a long trip. We love the ease of use and the poer adapter that allows us to take the cooler into the motel at night and keep it running. We can keep lots of "doggy bags" of leftovers, drinks and snacks cool.

Im no trucker, but I use this in combination with an cheap inline thermostat and this makes a great proofing box for bread or fermenting box for cured meat. Wish they made a bigger one.
