Thermoelectric Cooler
I love the unit. It really came in handy traveling for Thanksgiving. The unit is pretty quiet. I like that you can use it vertically or horizontally and it’s light, easy to move. I took off a star because I think it should come with a plug option for in the home. It only came with a car adapter

You get what you pay for
It is basically a cooler. After 22 days of non consecutive use, the plug heated up and broke apart. What is also an inconvenience is that the plug randomly falls out of the car charger outlet.
My husband is an over the road truck driver and that is how it was being used.

Saves me money time and my waistline
I drive a truck and this cooler is saving me money by allowing me to have food and drink on hand so I’m not at the mercy of truck stops. I carry muscle milks for breakfast bottled water bag salads grapes and meat and cheese. This also helps me keep my weight in check.

2d cooler with fan troubles
This is the 2d cooler I have purchased that had the fan go out and warm up my food. This time I will replace the fan. I do unplug the cooler once a week to melt the ice off or whenever the fan makes noise...so I can't figure why they are dying when I'm on the road.

Cheap and disposable
As an over-the-road truck driver, I am about to purchase my fourth one in under 2 years. They seem to last between 4:00 and 6 months. When they work, they work well. I suppose after they stop working you could always use it as a regular cooler.

Cord Failed
Got the cooler earlier this year and the cord for it failed me and no longer is able to power it. After struggling to talk to customer support, I was told the cooler was built in 2014. Not impressed!!!!!!

Love this cooler, but reliability issues...
Bought this for my son who's an OTR (Over The Road) truck driver. He does not have a fridge in his truck and this cooler perfectly fits the need (when it s working). When working, it's great and as advertised. The problem has been after about a week of operation (at home or in truck), the fuse blows and thus cooling ceases. I'm an electronics expert, checked all connections (OK) and found the fuse was 7.5A (specs state 5A) and it was an A/C fuse (versus 12V DC automotive). Replaced with a 8A fuse and it still blew. Tip of 12V connector runs extremely hot (to the touch) when in full operation.
I suspect we received a defective unit that is pulling too many amps for whatever reason or the fuse type is incorrect. I am already in contact Coleman support because we really like this cooler and want it to operate properly. I will rate it 5-stars if we can get past this issue. Fan and cooling fins are clean (new unit) and airflow is adequate. Plugged into a 10A minimum outlet (home and in truck) so supply is not the problem.
Confident Coleman will help resolve this issue.

ONLY THING THE PLUG IN DOES NOT STAY IN THE CIGARET LIGHTER SOCKETS VERY WELL BECAUSE OF THE FUSED ENDS DO NOT ALLOW IT TO GO I FURTHER BUT THE COOLING PART IS GREAT AND LOVE IT. ON MY TRIPS.

The 12-volt Automotive Power Plug overheats and melts requiring replacement. I've had to replace the power cord and plug 3 times so far! It is inadequate for the power required!
